In recent times, the rollout of initiatives in terms of Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society has given rise to various information systems and databases within different operational setups. These data are spread out, scattered across different software, hardware, and information systems. Moreover, there's a limited culture of sharing these data resources for practical use.
With the rapidly increasing volume of data, failing to process it will result in an incredibly significant waste of resources for units. This wastefulness isn't limited to the data's value; it also involves the misuse of physical infrastructure. (At present, only 0.5% of all global data is processed and used each year, according to Technology Review.)
To unlock the potential of data, it's essential to establish fundamental principles, focusing on three key criterias: Creating a valuable data platform; Establishing a transparent and reliable warehouse through the organization, integration, simplification, and management of data; Applying methods, algorithms, visualization tools to maximize the value derived from data.
